Tickled to discover three books set in the Okal Rel Universe on the list of longer works eligible for the Aurora Award.

Be ever so happy to see them nominated, of course, should anyone feel so moved. :-) If not, there might be others there that you would like to put forward. I believe the way it works is that you download a nomination form and submit your choice(s).

PS Looks like they also have the VCON sampler on the list, but I have e-mailed the address provided to let them know it shouldn't be there. :-)

I happened across this site, looking for an opalescent/iridescent effect background. Didn't find exactly what I wanted, but there are a number of classy backgrounds here, not to mention buttons and bullets that are a cut above ye olde glass ball. And here's another site I found recently, too Web Graphics from GloriAnon.

Hmmm

EDIT -
Net goblins ate my graphic. I had a total of 70.

I'm not sure if my lack of rodents helped or hindered my score.
*grin*

I am a Nerd God(ess)

Diverting myself from the tedious task of spell-checking "Temples" (putting all medical terms and made up names, dealing with Word grammar check's intolerance for reflexive pronouns and sentence fragments, and enduring its counselling on comma-placement), I diverted over to an on-line quiz. With the following result:

I am nerdier than 95% of all people. Are you nerdier? Click here to find out!

It might be all those questions about obscure elements on the periodic table ...

Courtesy of SFSite, a roundup page of some of the offerings of on-line fiction.

And should you wish, you can add the ORU to the Webring of Imaginary Countries, which does include planets and small universes.

-Article on a compound found in wormwood that is successful against cancer cells. Very exciting stuff. Again. After 2000 years.

Discovered a review of the "Erotic Fantastic" -- the best of Circlet Press Anthology that "Bride's Story" was re-printed in, at http://www.theharrow.com/columns/reviews/eroticfantastic.html. A short mention is made of "Bride Story's", but there is no reference to the Okal Rel Universe, of course. It is just one story in the anthology. But "Bride's Story" was Amel's first appearance in print.
