Cool to see so many names listed on Quelology for the Okal Rel Universe series. People who have edited for, or published stories in, the anthologies are included.
Part 7: Healer's Sword is on the Edge website listed with releases for summer/fall of 2011 complete with Michelle Milburn's lovely cover picture of Ilse Marin against a battlewheel backdrop that is nicely suggestive of Horth featuring in her life. :-)

Shot of new cover for Horth in Killing Reach and two stages in the development of Part 7: Healer's Sword covers feature on website of artist Michelle Milburn. Also the lovely cover of the next book in Nathalie Mallet's Prince Amir Mystery Series, in which her hero wanders a quasi-historical world, troubled by magic, after escaping his gilded cage. Gotta get that one! Enjoyed the first two in the series.

Last time I ran into Mel Farrow, in Prince George, B.C., she gave me this picture of the characters she enjoys in the Okal Rel Universe. It's Ann and Amel down the front. Luthan and Erien holding hands on one side. Tatt on the other side. And since it's Mel, I'm figuring one of the figures at the back must be Di Mon. Looks like they're done in "high school anime" style. -) Thanks Mel! Miss yah.

My comment on the topic Too strange for fiction" on Clarion Writer's Craft was:
"when inventing the Vrellish, I wanted males to be able to share in infant care. But when talking with my sister about the possibility of lactating men, her reaction was so clearly “never could I find a breast-feeding man sexy” that I gave it up. My research had suggested there might be at least one mammal precedent. A type of bat, if I recall."
Received the following from Amy Harlib, which gave me a chuckle and charged my rel-batteries for writing.
> Really? I find the idea of breast feeding men delightful! What are
> their nipples for then? It would make them much better, more nurturing
> fathers!
> Amy Harlib
> Huge fan of your books!

In the funky things amuse me category ... Acronym Geek lists "Okal Rel Universe" as one of the meanings for ORU.
Slice of the cover of Opus 5. I'm still going back and forth with the publisher on proofing but it is SO close now, at last!
