One of the lovely people Lynda and I met at Con-Version was Kyla Richards. She is a very talented sculptor. A couple of years ago she made this model of Ann for Brian. One day we hope to be able to commission her to do other ORU characters.

Months ago, while surfing the web, I spotted this 3-Dimensional illusion created to be a light portal for a fun physics event at UCLA and asked the owners if I could feature it as a possible jump hallucination on the ORU site. Just got around to processing their answer, in the "in box" queue. Thanks guys! It's shiny.

Pleased to have a half-page spread in the program for Conversion 24. It wasn't a large turn out this year but we had good people-times at the bar and it was awesome to see the growing display of ORU books at the Edge table in the dealer's room. It was fun to have Tegan and Mel there, too. They even dressed up for the ORU event and joined us in the bar - for Shirly Temples in their case. Justyn Perry had out the first Absolute XPress catalog which includes two of the ORU anthologies, thus far, and three of my novellas. Making progress with Craig Bowlsby's novella and the third anthology. See David's choices of all the pictures we took on my Con's Attended Page for ConVersion 24.

Fan appreciation
This is a testimonial from a young adult who - we thought - didn't read books. Just goes to show - they can be dragged away from the TV. :-)

Grab Rat by Lisa Proulx
Did some work this morning on a picture of a grab rat drawn by artist Lisa Proulx for use in the overhauled guide to the Okal Rel Universe. And I'd like to thank Peter Keres for his article Coloring Pencil Drawings With Photoshop at FARP (Fantasy Art Research Project). Peter's article taught me a new trick about using the Guassian Blur filter.
