I came across a review of The Courtesan Prince in the online journal The Harrow while goggling for something else today. The review pegs the Okal Rel Universe as space opera, but intelligent space opera. I can live with that. :-) All the more so since buying The Space Opera Renaissance by David Hartwell, at World Con in LA. Lois McMaster Bujold is one of the authors whose works Hartwell designates as space opera. If that's so, then I can cope with the company. :-)
