New ORU Buttons - Ranar Chibi

Here's one of the new ORU buttons made possible by Kathy Plett. The chibi on this one is by Mel Farrow. The button design art is by Jordan Bacon. Charlie Harmon says "I like the chibies". Dave Anderson has sent the buttons along, in digital form, to AboutSF. The actual buttons will be available in a couple of weeks - in time for the Bridges conference at UNBC in June, for sure. These buttons feature quotes from Part 5: Far Arena, although a few hark back to earlier materials. The Ranar quote on this button, for example, occurs in Part 3: Pretenders.

Buttons and Books at LTUE 2009
Some happy news from Charlie Harmon, an awesome organizer and Amel-friendly soul mate who shares books and buttons for me with some special people.
(From e-mail Feb 23, 2009)
>LTUE went very well. Over 500 attendees. Educator's Conference had
>over 20 for each event.
.
.
>I heard several comments about the Okal Rel Universe and the
>buttons. The comments I heard (and I didn't attend the EC, just
>popped in from time to time) were that the quotes on the buttons were
>great, and the idea of sharing the Okal Rel Universe was great. :)

Delighted to tell the world ORU books and buttons were distributed by Charlie Harmon at the educators' conference Life, the Universe and Everything this month and David-Glenn Anderson distributed 25 copies of the Worlds of Lynda Williams CDs which contains classroom exercises featuring the ORU. I can't thank Charlie and DGA enough and hope classes and educators will continue to add material of their own to the CD to increase its utility to their peers.
