My wonderful webmaster David Lott is exploring the placement of Okal Rel Universe ads using Project Wonderful. Unlike schemes where you pay regardless of competition for a spot, Project Wonderful lets you juggle your bids and appear where it's meaningful. Delightful option for authors looking for a low cost, well-targeted bit of exposure. Kudos, as well, to Michelle Milburn who did the banners for us as commissioned artwork.

David Lott got us set up with an ad for Part 6: Avim's Oath on the VCON website. I was taken with the ad service they are using, called Project Wonderful. Exactly the sort of smart and appropriate advertising the web media begs for, rather than limiting the potential to static print models.

Opus 4 Cover update
Another tease for the cover of Opus 4. Artist Michelle Milburn is trying this and that at our suggestion. Goal is to have one by July 15. I've also heard from author Lexi on some minor adjustments to her story which I need to get to Absolute XPress early next week.

Thanks to Robert Sawyer's post on facebook, I discovered nomination stats for "best novel" voting for the Aurora. Pleased to see Far Arena, part 5 of the Okal Rel Saga, had a respectable showing. See Aurora Nomination Stats. Winning the Aurora depends on votes from readers who follow the award and register their choice with the aurora site. Voters must be Canadian.

Working on Opus 4 cover. Here's a detail from the present draft idea being pondered. Absolute XPress wants to standardize covers so we're working with Michelle Milburn on this version.

The new look of the Absolute XPress site is very nice. And all the better for the appearance of Opus 4 of the Okal Rel Legacies series as a forth-coming book. We've had to make an adjustment to the cover art, and are waiting for a new cover from Michelle Milburn. Opus 4 is the companion anthology themed to Part 4: Throne Price. Stories deal with ways in which the past upsets the present.
